Bidsquare Cloud’s 2024 ended on a tremendous upswing, capping the year with double-digit increases versus 2023. These successes are the result of more and more auction houses embracing our tools and a testament to the strength and efficacy of the software.

This was a year that saw sellers and bidders helping to set new records, proving that the auction landscape can reach new heights. Here’s a closer look at the numbers that defined our year.

Delivering on the Promise

Driving bids, bidders, and ultimately sales, are just a few reasons why the world’s leading auction houses choose Bidsquare Cloud. Year over year, the software has delivered meaningful results for sellers across a variety of categories – and 2024 was no different. Bids and bidders were up 67% and 77% respectively, resulting in an astonishing 66% increase in total sales vs 2023.

Lots of Lots

Bidsquare Cloud drove a 6% increase in lots sold – 80,582 lots – across 13 categories. This volume reflects the ease of managing inventory, whether it’s tracking consignments or adding new items to an auction. The mobile app also allowed auction houses to run their operations from wherever they were, offering added flexibility.

Decorative Arts, Collectibles, and Fine Art proved to be the most popular categories and accounted for nearly three quarters of lots sold. Since the technology supports auctions of all kinds, expect to see Industrial Equipment, Livestock/Horses and Real Estate on the list of categories this year, and the Automobile category to rise in ranking.

Driving Bids to the Max

Auction houses maximized reach and engagement through co-listing on Bidsquare.com. The software syncs platforms and seamlessly manages bids across auction houses’ Bidsquare Cloud White Label website and our marketplace, driving bidding activity among a wider audience to garner the highest possible sale price.

SCP Auctions saw this first-hand, scoring the top hammer price of the year with its Freddie Freeman World Series Game 1 Walk-Off Grand Slam Baseball at $1.3 million. This historic collectible captivated bidders to drive its position to the third most valuable baseball sold at auction.
